The Town of Sandisfield is seeking interested residents to serve on the Conservation Commission.

The Conservation Commission is responsible for protecting the Town's natural resources and administering the Massachusetts Wetlands Protection Act and local wetlands regulations. The Commission reviews permit applications for work occurring in or near wetlands and water resources, conducts public hearings, advises the Town on conservation matters, and assists with the stewardship of Town-owned conservation lands. The Commission generally meets on the third Tuesday of every month.

This appointment is to fill a vacancy for the remainder of an unexpired term and will expire in May 2027. Pursuant to Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 40, Section 8C, vacancies on a Conservation Commission are filled for the remainder of the unexpired term in the same manner as the original appointment.

Residents with an interest in conservation, environmental protection, land use, or municipal government are encouraged to apply. Prior experience is helpful but not required.

Interested individuals should submit a letter of interest to Janey Snyder at [email protected]

Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.
