Pipeline Information

At the Annual Town Meeting on Saturday, May 17, 2014, Sandisfield citizens voted unanimously to ban gas pipeline expansion within our town. Click here for a copy of the Resolution.

The Connecticut Expansion Project as proposed by Kinder Morgan impacts Sandisfield with installation of 3.8 miles of 36" high pressure pipeline adjacent to the two existing pipelines (1952, 1981). With the goal of supplying natural gas (much of it "fracked" gas) to Connecticut, this third line would increase the existing right of way, traversing and further destroying conservation and wetlands. It will force property owners to yet again give up the use of even more of their land, and it endangers the town's safety and negatively impacts property values and our local economy. Kinder Morgan made a presentation in Sandisfield on May 8th to an obviously largely anti-pipeline audience. You may view the company's presentation slides by clicking here. STOP (Sandisfield Taxpayers Opposing the Pipeline) is a local grass roots organization working to prevent the pipeline. For more information or to assist in the cause, click here to visit their website.
