Employment Opportunity: Forecast and Budget Administrator

The Town of Sandisfield is seeking a qualified individual to support the Town’s annual financial forecasting and budget process.

Hours/Compensation: This position requires less than 40 hours per month from September 2021 to May 2022 with peak periods in October and January to April. Hourly compensation is up to $20 depending on qualifications.

Job Environment: This position is a remote work environment with no dedicated office space provided. Candidates may need to provide their own technology (a Town-owned laptop may be available if required) to manage the forecasting and budgeting process and email and other communications access to effectively communicate with Town Department Heads and Town Office staff members. Some meeting attendance (in person or remote) will be required and infrequently will be scheduled outside of business hours. 

Responsibilities:

  • Using the template from previous Forecast and Budget processes, establish and communicate schedule of activities to stakeholders. Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the processes to answer questions and achieve scheduled activity.
  • Develop an effective relationship with key Town Forecast and Budget stakeholders and provide appropriate feedback to key stakeholders on important concerns and/or issues.
  • Update and distribute forecast and budget documents and consolidate input received.
  • Develop analysis of forecasts/budget as appropriate.

Recommended Minimum Qualifications: Computer skills for both communicating with stakeholders (MSWord, email) and spreadsheet skills are required. Ability to effectively communicate with a broad group of stakeholders necessary. Experience with forecasting and budgeting a plus.

  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing,
  • Time management and project management skills to deliver against agreed deadlines,
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Detail oriented, organized and able to maintain proper records and files.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work with limited supervision.
