About Us: As many of you know, the Town Clerk's office faced a mini crisis not too long ago. The position of Town Clerk was on the verge of becoming appointed rather than elected due to a lack of interest from town residents. The current Town Clerk, Douglas Miner, stepped in to preserve the elected status and has been fulfilling the role while actively searching for a long-term replacement.

Position Overview:

  • Title: Assistant Town Clerk
  • Starting Pay: $20-30 per hour (negotiable based on experience and abilities)
  • Minimum Hours: 8-19hrs per week (negotiable based on experience and abilities)

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the day-to-day operations of the Town Clerk's office
  • Support the Town Clerk in various administrative tasks
  • Learn and manage essential town clerk functions, such as record-keeping and voter registration
  • Interact with town residents and provide excellent customer service
  • Attend training sessions to prepare for potential advancement to the role of Town Clerk

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Basic computer skills and willingness to learn new software
  • Commitment to maintaining the elected status of the Town Clerk position
