TREE TRIMMING THROUGHOUT TOWN

As a way of improving electric service reliability, Eversource is performing vegetation maintenance on circuits and powerlines within the Town of Sandisfield from now through the Summer.

Reminder to all residents

A representative from Asplundh Tree Expert, who is working on behalf of Eversource, is actively going to door to door leaving cards regarding potential tree work at the property lines. Sample door hanger cards are attached below.

The Asplundh/Eversource representative has proper identification and is driving a white pickup truck with an Eversource Contractor sign on it.

The "tree removal crews" are cutting large trees first. They are followed by the "tree trimming crews" who are cutting along electric lines in order to maintain the necessary clearance required for safety.  This work is being done at no cost to you.

The tree cutting work is currently being performed on paved roads.  When mud season is over, the tree crews will move on to the dirt roads. The tree crews will be working in Sandisfield for several more months.

Tree branches are pruned for necessary clearance, reliability and health of the trees.  Eversource is working closely with their qualified tree trimming contractors as well as the Sandisfield DPW to assure the work is performed as specified.

The pruning for line clearances are: eight feet of air clearance on the side, ten feet below and fifteen feet above. Due to the excessive amounts of overgrowth throughout Town, in certain areas additional pruning for line clearance will need to occur to eliminate/reduce overhang.

In addition to the Eversource crews, the DPW has hired tree crews to continue the work of cutting dead and hazardous trees within the road right-of-ways.

Please use caution as you drive by these tree crews.  The work they are doing now will help reduce power outages during stormy weather.  If you have any questions, contact Brad Curry, DPW Superintendent at:  highways@sandisfieldma.gov.
