YANNER PARK - LOOKING GOOD!

A small parking area and driveway improvements have recently been completed at Yanner Park and the park is now accessible on Town Hill Road.

“These improvements are possible due to thoughtful and persistent forest management on the property spanning several years and directed by Forester Bob Tarasuk” said Adam Brown, Yanner Park Committee Chairman. He added, “These enhancements allow the Town to begin to realize Yanner Park as a potential resource for the community.”

Logging is also happening on the Hammertown Road side of the property and should be wrapped up by the end of the summer.  Once these projects are finished, the Yanner Park Committee will begin working on getting grants to have a trail system built that will allow ease of access into and across the property.

The goal is to eventually connect Town Hill and Hammertown Roads, which will allow people to hike all the way from town hall annex to Town Hill Road, via Berkshire Natural Resources Council’s Clam River property and Yanner Park, with the option to detour over to the state’s Clam River Dam property.

Stop in at the kiosk at the park entrance on Town Hill Road for periodic information and updates.

Thanks so much to everyone who has played a part in making Yanner Park come to life. There is still work to be done and residents are encouraged to get involved.

A special thanks to the Yanner Park Committee for their vision and oversight of this wonderful piece of property.
