Proposed Housing, Driveway and Cannabis Bylaws

The Planning Board is considering three bylaws and has sent draft proposals to the Select Board.  There will be further review and discussion between the Select and Planning boards before any of this becomes finalized for the Town Meeting warrant.  These first drafts are by no means final. These are preliminary drafts only and subject to further revision in the coming months before being submitted to the Town Meeting next May.

A Housing Bylaw is proposed to provide older homeowners with a means of obtaining rental income, companionship, security, and services, thereby enabling them to stay more comfortably in homes and neighborhoods they might otherwise be forced to leave.

A Cannabis Bylaw is proposed to allow State-licensed adult use Marijuana Establishments to locate within the Town of Sandisfield in accordance with applicable State Laws, Rules and Regulations and to impose reasonable safeguards.

A Shared Driveway Amendment is proposed. The purpose of this amendment is to permit a single driveway to serve multiple parcels, to reduce habitat fragmentation and share costs between cooperating landowners.
