Employment Opportunity: Town Asset Custodian

The Town of Sandisfield is seeking a motivated individual to develop and document a listing of Town Owned physical assets. This opportunity is expected to commence in the beginning of August 2021 and end approximately by October 2021 and will involve:

  • Developing a format and method of collecting asset data, tagging assets and developing asset inventory,
  • Through direct engagement with Town Department Heads, physically identify and affix appropriate asset inventory identification stickers,
  • Complete asset inventory in an appropriate digital format, and
  • Review Town Warrants for previous years to ensure that all recently acquired assets are included in the inventory.

Hours/Compensation: Maximum of 19 hours per week at hourly rate of $15 – 18 depending on qualifications.

Job Environment: This position is a remote work environment (no dedicated office space provided). Successful candidate may need to provide their own technology (a Town-owned laptop may be available if required) and work with Town resources to determine the most efficient structure and format for asset listing. Candidate must use their own transportation within the Town to physically identify assets and affix asset inventory sticker.

Knowledge, Ability and Skill:

  • Ability to structure asset data in a usable format for input and inquiry
  • Ability to communicate well orally and in writing
  • Computer competency with and access to standard spreadsheet or database software
  • Ability to interact and maintain an effective working relationship with Town colleagues
  • Organized, detail oriented and able to develop and maintain accurate records and files
  • Self-starter, able to work with limited supervision.
