A well permit is required in the Town of Sandisfield whenever a well is created, repaired or decommissioned. To obtain a well permit, the following must be submitted to the Sandisfield Board of Health, 66 Sandisfield Rd, Suite 5, Sandisfield, MA 01255.
- Completed Well Permit Application
- Site plan showing the location of all potential sources of contamination, typically stamped by a Civil Engineer, Registered Sanitarian or Surveyor
- $100 Application Fee, payable to the "Town of Sandisfield"
Sandisfield has the following required setbacks for new well construction:
- Subsurface leaching field, abandoned, in use or reserve area: 150'
- Cesspool or Seepage Pit: 150'
- Septic Tank: 100'
- Sewer Lines: 50'
- Property Lines: 30'
- Driveway: 20'
- Underground fuel storage tank 200'
- Utility Right-of-Way: 100'
- Stable, barnyard, manure pile, manure storage tank, feedlot 150'
